Effective September 22, 2026.
The CharityClarity New York Connector retrieves public charity-search evidence from the New York registry for checks you start in CharityClarity.
The connector handles the organization name and EIN you search, public registry record identifiers and names, temporary browser tab and check identifiers, and limited connection diagnostics. Public search evidence is returned to the CharityClarity webpage and its Compliance Express backend so it can confirm the organization and interpret its status. The extension does not receive your CharityClarity sign-in passcode.
The connector uses Chrome session storage for unfinished checks and their public search evidence, allowing work to resume when its background worker restarts. Session storage is cleared when the browser session ends. Limited recovery timing and error information is kept in local extension storage to prevent repeated recovery attempts. It does not collect unrelated browsing history.
To keep each lookup in the correct tab, the connector processes the URLs of the participating CharityClarity and New York registry pages. On the New York registry page it monitors only the verification and charity-search requests and responses needed for your check. Verification/session cookies may be inspected locally during recovery; cookie values and verification tokens are not returned as search evidence.
When recovery is needed, the connector can expire eligible cookies and clear local storage, IndexedDB, cache storage, and service workers only for the New York charity-search website. Cookie values are not transmitted to Compliance Express or written to diagnostic logs. Recovery protects other New York registry tabs you already have open and does not clear unrelated websites or browsing history.
The connector uses this information to perform your requested lookup, manage its queue, and diagnose connection failures. It does not sell data or use it for advertising. You can disable or uninstall the connector in Chrome. CharityClarity's website and backend are also covered by the Compliance Express privacy policy.
The connector's use and transfer of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide or improve the connector's disclosed functionality. Transfers are limited to providing that functionality, security, legal obligations, or a permitted business transfer. It is not used for personalized advertising, creditworthiness, or lending. Human access is limited to user-consented support, security, legal requirements, or aggregated and anonymized internal operations.
